About

Béla Frank is a designer based in Budapest, working with type, graphics, and the web. He cares about clear, thoughtful design — the kind that’s driven by strong ideas and even stronger visuals.

He also runs Frank Fonts, his own type design practice, and teaches type design at the university level — something he enjoys tremendously.

Outside of design, he’s deeply interested in psychology and social work, and finds inspiration in Buddhism, meditation, yoga, and abstract art.

Frank Fonts

Frank Fonts is a type design studio that creates and publishes sometimes award-winning and always daring retail and custom type designs. The studio also offers retail font production and typographic services.

Small and independent, Frank Fonts was founded by Béla Frank as the latest manifestation of more than a decade of passion and practice in type design and typography.

Béla is a British-Hungarian typeface and graphic designer who has been designing and publishing fonts since 2010, including custom typefaces and lettering for clients from Hungary, the EU, the UK, the US and Russia. Between 2012 and 2015 he also worked for Fontsmith, the London-based type design studio.

Béla's passion for letterforms and desire to work with clients in need of high quality type design eventually led to the founding of Frank Fonts in 2018.
